The Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation Commission was formed by County Council on July 1,2006. As part of the Commission’s creation, five volunteer Commissioners, representing various areas of the County, were appointed to provide oversight and policy direction to Spartanburg’s Parks and Recreation program. Commissioners serve terms of four years and meet on the third Monday of each month at the lower level of the Cleveland Park Event Center.
