Outdoor Wedding Fee: $50.00 for weddings held in the Formal Garden or other approved site plus a $50.00 damage deposit. Weddings held in the Gazebo or Amphitheater will be charged the rental fee of the site instead of the Outdoor Wedding fee.

• Choosing a site: Appropriate outdoor wedding sites include the Gazebo, Amphitheater, or Formal Garden. You must have special permission from the Park Director to hold an outdoor wedding at any other location within the park. Please refer to the Gazebo and Amphitheater Policies for weddings to be held at those locations. A wedding may not be scheduled in the Formal Garden during a time that the Event Center is rented to another customer.
• Booking your event: An outdoor wedding may be booked up to 60 days in advance. An appointment is required in order to sign your rental contract and pay fees. The lessee is not allowed to sublease the space.
• Fees: For weddings held in the Formal Garden or some other pre-approved location there is a fee of $50.00 plus a refundable security deposit of $50.00. The required fees must be paid at the time the rental contract is signed. Refunds are processed within 2 weeks after your event for the refundable deposit less any additional clean-up or damage charges.
• Hours of rental: Weddings in the Formal Garden or another approved location may be scheduled between the hours of 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. Rental time must include time for decorating and clean up of decorations. You must vacate the facility at the end of your rental time. Failure to vacate by the appointed time will result in the loss of your security deposit plus any damages that may have been incurred, including extra clean up fees.
• Cancellation: Rental fees and deposits will be refunded for outdoor weddings cancelled at least 14 days in advance. All payments are forfeited if the cancellation is less than 14 days in advance.
• Rain Policy: Refunds are not given unless the National Weather Service issues a severe weather watch or warning for the time of your reservation, or unless park staff determines that the wedding cannot be held outside because of foul weather. If park staff determines that your wedding cannot be held outside, and the lower level of the Event Center is available, your event may be moved inside. We suggest that you have a definite rain plan and do not count on the lower level of the Event Center being available unless you have made prior arrangements to rent the space.
• Set-up and decorations: Cleveland Park has wedding chairs available for rent at $1 per chair. All chair set-ups, decorations, and flow of event must be pre-approved by the park director. Set-ups, decorations, and flow of event must be conducive to the safety of guests and purpose of the facility. Balloons are allowed, and rose petals or birdseed may be thrown as the bride and groom leave. Glitter, confetti, sequins, and sand are prohibited. Nails, tacks, and tape may not be used to hang decorations. All rental equipment must be removed immediately following your wedding. Park staff is not responsible for the removal or care of rental equipment.
• Maximum attendance: Guests are limited to 50 at outdoor sites other than the Gazebo & Amphitheater.
• Receptions: Receptions at the park must be held in the Event Center or in a Picnic Shelter by prior reservation only. Food & beverages may not be served at outdoor wedding sites.
• Sound Amplification: Requests to use sound amplification for weddings must be submitted to the Park staff at the time fees are paid. You may be required to apply for a permit from the City of Spartanburg. Call (864) 596-3104 for information. Park staff has the right to monitor the noise level and alter it accordingly.
• Clean up: All debris and decorations must be bagged and removed from the facility. All rental equipment must be removed immediately following the wedding. Failure to remove decorations, trash, and rental equipment following the wedding may result in the forfeit of all or a portion of the security deposit.
• Damages: The Parks and Recreation Facilities Manager will determine whether any damage has occurred, the amount of the damage, the cost of repairing or replacing such damage, and whether the damage is of the nature that the lessee shall be held responsible. His or her decision will be final.
